Gold filled in perfect working order this watch has massive value for any collection. Born in the German village of Ostofen, founder of the compnay Dietrich Gruen imigrated to USA where in 1876 he started a watch company that was due to become one of the largest watch manufacturers in the United States. It was in business till 1958 and was based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later it moved to New York, but usually the collectors suggest it was the end of the vintage era.
This particular watch ref # 877 was probably one of the latest productions, close to 1955. So called prince watch by the design & doctors watch by the seconds function.
The movement was so successful that it was purchased by the Rolex for their caliber 300. Please refer to the picture.
