Outstanding model of the Donald McKay built Boston clipper ship "Sovereign of the Seas." The planked mahogany deck carries many brass fittings including capstan, bitts, bollards, pump, bells, belaying pins, hatch rings, davits, etc. Other details include built up cabins with doors and lights, companionways, hatches, chart cabin, wheel box etc. The hull is copper sheathed below the waterline and painted black above. Mounted into a freestanding mahogany display case with inlaid satinwood marquetry. Case dims: 46 x 19 x 63. Late 20th Century. Condition: excellent
