Details/Condition: Bound in its original blindstamped sage cloth boards with gilt embossing, this antique text is a scarce collection of twenty-four beautifully lithographed sketches from nature, exploring the bucolic and sublime elements of the English countryside, all drawn by George Childs (1800-1875). The volume shows some external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clear, intact illustration plates with some faint, scattered foxing and toned areas. The book measures approximately 11" x 7.5".
