This is an original lithograph poster 'maitre de l'affiche' (master of the poster) for La Chaine Simpson (the bicycle chain by Simpson sold in France by L.B. Spoke Paris Chaix 31.5x46.5 in /80x118 cm. Excellent condition.
Toulouse-Lautrec's work was chosen to be among the first 4 posters in the Maitre de L'Affiche series, which showed how early he had achieved tremendous popular status
Les Maitres de L'Affiche (The Masters of the Poster) is One (1) of the most prestigious and influential art publications in history.
'Although Lautrec produced only thirty posters, he is undisputably the master of the poster.
