Civil War Special Permit issued by Federal Forces, Nashville, July 24, 1863. The document reads, "Special Permit Nashville, July 24 1863 (date in script). Ms (or Mrs?) Wilson (in script) has permission to purchase the following goods, for family use, in Nashville, and transport the same to Murphusboro Pike (in script) within the Federal lines. Signed W G (?illeg - in script), Surveyor of Customs Per (illegible script). "Ms Wilson" probably refers to Fannie Wilson of Glen Leven. Condition - tears to right margin, creases. Glen Leven estate.
