Historical document archive from the antebellum home, Elm Springs, in Columbia, Tennessee (Maury County). Includes ten (10) original letters of correspondence between Dick Todd and Sarah Dick Todd. All letters have been transcribed. Letters fold to make the cover and the majority are stamped "Columbia Ten." or "Nashville Ten". One letter to Mrs. Sarah Todd is from London via Boston & Halifax steamer. One letter mentions the Mexican War. Included in the archive are numerous other transcribed letters belonging to other family members as well as additional local Maury County material. Elm Springs still stands and currently serves as the headquarters for the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Military Order of the Stars and Bars. Circa 1830-1845. Private collection.
