Walworth Stilson original works of art. Walworth Stilson (1874-1962) attended the Detroit School of Art, studying under listed artist, John Ward Dunsmore. He completed his art studies at the Detroit Academy, where listed artist Joseph W. Gies was his instructor. 1st item - illustration with poem titled "A Song of September", forest scene interior with stream bordered by branches with leaves, lower left poem, gouache on paperboard. Unsigned from the estate of Walworth Stilson. Condition – overall light layer of dirt, light foxing to unpainted margins, paperboard margin corners worn and chipped, remnants of adhesive on back top margin. 14 ¾" x 21 ½" gouache painting, 22 ½" x 30 7/8" paperboard. 2nd item - original illustrations and poem overleafs – front cover dated "March 18" and "50" in pencil, with landscape of interior forest stream snow scene, oil on heavy paper 5" x 7 7/8" margins. Overall page dimensions 10 1/8" x 15 3/8". Inside leaf, numbered "48" – ink drawing of landscape with "The Bluebird" poem. 5" x 7 7/8" margins. Inside leaf numbered "47" – ink drawing with poem and drawing in upper left corner, in script "16th". 5" x 7 7/8" margins. Inside leaf numbered "46" – ink drawing of landscape with stream. 5" x 7 7/8" margins. Inside leaf numbered "49" and script "Mar. 15th" – ink drawing of poem "Compassion". 5" x 7 7/8" margins. Overall very good condition. Early 20th century.
