Carved and painted eagle holding 44-star flag surmounting shield with 5 stars attributed to George Stapf (1862-1958) carver from Lancaster/Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Gilt eagle with flag pole running behind neck. Piece measures 23" x 38" and exhibits break at left wing, missing finial to flagpole, and loss to bottom of flagpole. Original paint.
