unsigned, three-quarter length portrait of a young gentleman in a black suit, seated in a chair in front of a red curtain. In his right hand, he is holding a document, and he is wearing silver spectacles. American, ca 1830-1850, in an older gold-painted frame; 13.75" x 11.75" (w/o frame), 15.75" x 13.75" (w/frame).
