Despite this seemingly genetic pre-disposition to artistic pursuits, Guy C. Wiggins was the most gifted, and most prolific, of the family. It was not long before he decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and focus on painting. He studied at the National Academy of Design under Chase and Henri, eventually becoming a full member in 1919. This painting is a perfe example of the pictures that endeared Wiggins to a wide audience - New York in winter. - SS 14.5"h x 9.75"w; DOA 19.5"h x 14.5"w From the estate of Dr. Mildred Pfeiffer of Philadelphia (1910-1992).
