HEPPLEWHITE NINE-DRAWER HIGH CHEST. Cherry with an old mellow refinishing and pine secondary wood. French feet have scalloped returns and a strip of beading which runs around the lower case. Dovetailed drawers have beaded edges and retain the original brasses. Top drawers have wooden spring latches underneath. Cove molded cornice. The brasses have areas of gilding remaining and are initialed under the bales "H. J.". Lock escutcheons are old additions. Nailed restorations to the foot facings and one front foot has partially replaced facings. Good size. 42 1/4"w. 21"d. at the cornice. Case is 38 3/4"w. 63"h.
