Typical Day On The Corner Daguerreotype
From across a rough dirt street the daguerreotypist has framed a two story building with multi-paned windows, probably a recently built hotel. A frame that looks like a typical frame for six daguerreotypes has been hung on the wall beside the closed door at the left, likely put up by the visiting daguerreotypist to show examples of his work. 11 people sit or stand in various attitudes on the wooden railing that runs around the building. While the standing men seem aware of the camera, this is less formally posed than most outdoor daguerreotypes. It shows the everyday scene of idle citizens and visiting drummers lounging at mid-day.
