A gorgeous finely tinted ½ plate in a fine full case with Mayall's gilded logo on the back. Mayall was a Philadelphia daguerreotypist who set up studios in England. This is an excellent example of Mayall's English work. There is rich coloring, depth, and an excellent pose. Some minor fine scratches at the very top. [D4]
