The mother has an interesting dress, with a feather in her cap. The watch is gilded. The subject is very unusual, beautifully posed. The careful composition is reminiscent of some great classical paintings with religious subjects. ¼ plate in a full case. There is some roughness in the backing applied to the background. [3]
