Born without arms, Felu became a celebrated painter. Here he paints a self-portrait, so this is a double of him, full face and profile. His slippers and paint box are beneath the easel. CDV by J. Maes, Anvers, with an embossed "M" at the upper right. "Charles Felu/ Antwerp" is written beneath the print. Is this a signature? There is a small tear at bottom of the mount. [3]
