RARE CONFEDERATE CAVALRY GUIDON WITH LANCE. Early war guidon is now separate and features eleven white four-point stars on a blue field. Broad red, white, and red stripes. All handsewn with some expected small holes and a stitched tear. Oak or ash staff has a dark patina and is very straight. Wrought iron lance tip is 9 1/2"l., 107" with staff. Early tag is attached and reads "Confederate lance", also "As captured at Richmond 1865". These were purchased from Norm Flayderman in the 1960's. A letter accompanies the items from Mr. Flayderman which states that they were from a historical society which had it in their collection after the war until the 1950's. Guidon, 17" x 11"
