Artist: Bob Barko, Jr.; Youngstown, Ohio

Sponsor: WYTV Channel 33

Medium: Enamel paint

Artist Statement and Biography: This design pairs classic Packards with some recognizable landmarks in the city of Warren, Ohio. The classic and pioneering 1901 Model C Runabout is paired with the Trumbull County Courthouse, an early and lasting symbol of the historic capital of the Western Reserve. A 1955 Caribbean Convertible is paired with the Packard Music Hall. A 1935 Packard is paired with the site of astronaut Neil Armstrong's first flight, which was in a 1936 Ford Tri-motor. A 1956 Packard Executive is paired with the National Packard Museum - a pairing of the last model year with the museum that showcases these classic automobiles. All these landmarks are never more than a short car ride away and are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mahoning Valley.

Bob Barko, Jr. is a life-long Mahoning Valley resident and a graduate of Youngstown State University. He is the founder of Steel Town Studios Gallery and Shoppe in downtown Youngstown, where his artwork and collection of memorabilia are on display.
