Artist Statement and Biography: This design pairs classic Packards with some recognizable landmarks in the city of Warren, Ohio. The classic and pioneering 1901 Model C Runabout is paired with the Trumbull County Courthouse, an early and lasting symbol of the historic capital of the Western Reserve. A 1955 Caribbean Convertible is paired with the Packard Music Hall. A 1935 Packard is paired with the site of astronaut Neil Armstrong's first flight, which was in a 1936 Ford Tri-motor. A 1956 Packard Executive is paired with the National Packard Museum - a pairing of the last model year with the museum that showcases these classic automobiles. All these landmarks are never more than a short car ride away and are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mahoning Valley.
Bob Barko, Jr. is a life-long Mahoning Valley resident and a graduate of Youngstown State University. He is the founder of Steel Town Studios Gallery and Shoppe in downtown Youngstown, where his artwork and collection of memorabilia are on display. Condition reportThe statue measurements are approximately 6 feet tall by 8 feet, 6 inches long. These are works of art and some statues are meant to be displayed out of the elements.
