Artist Statement and Biography: Photographs of Packard cars have been used to build a mosaic covering the statue using various images as the raw material (color, texture) as well as showing the beauty of the design elements of Packard cars. The famous Packard logo is also displayed. Close-up images of Packard automobiles were used as a treatment to create "flesh" for the goddess. The key to the artist's process is the touch of the artist hand, adding vitality and a uniqueness to each piece.
Tony Nicholas received his BFA with a concentration in photography from Youngstown State University and a MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was born in Niles, Ohio, but spent a portion of his childhood in Indianapolis where his love of racing began. Tony, his wife and two children live in Youngstown, Ohio. Condition reportThe statue measurements are approximately 6 feet tall by 8 feet, 6 inches long. These are works of art and some statues are meant to be displayed out of the elements.
