Artist Statement and Biography:  My goddess is grown out of the earth, similar to the way Packard helped grow our community. From the ground springs life as she leaps out of the ground through a tree trunk that has been carved by the elements of life into a majestic creature, just as the workers of the Mahoning Valley forged the steel and the vehicles that lasted for so many years and served as a base for many families. She becomes smoother and smoother and looks like a freshly carved wooden statue shining bright.

 

A native of Pennsylvania, Rocco Vadala now lives in Brookfield, Ohio, with his wife Mary. He studied at the Pennsylvania Governors School for Arts and Penn State University. Vadala's recent works reveal an experiment with not only color but with space and texture as well.

The statue measurements are approximately 6 feet tall by 8 feet, 6 inches long. These are works of art and some statues are meant to be displayed out of the elements.
