Artist: Gail Trunick; Burghill, Ohio

Sponsor: AVI Foodsystems

Media: mirrored glass, glass, marbles and beads

Artist Statement and Biography:  Following in the decorative tradition of art nouveau, my goddess is embellished in a mosaic of broken mirror, shattered glass, iridescent marbles and beads.  With the use of reflection, luminescence and lighting, her shimmer is truly the representative of the glitz and glamour that was Packard.

Gail Trunick's artistic concentration is in sculptural stoneware clay and mixed media.  She graduated with a BFA from Kent State University with a major in painting and a minor in sculpture.  Her artwork has been exhibited widely in area, state and national competitions. Gail's resume includes numerous one-woman and group shows, including a family exhibit at Trumbull Art Gallery in December 2006.  One piece was recently featured in the national magazine Doll Art Quarterly.  Her artwork is included in many public collections, including The White House Smithsonian Collections, the Ohio Governors Mansion Collection, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and the Ashtabula Center for the Arts.
