Artist Statement and Biography:  Classic car collector Jay Leno's goddess stands as a tribute to the classic styling of the Packard hood ornament.  The statue is autographed by Jay Leno.  The winning bidder will receive an 8 x 10 photograph which shows Mr. Leno autographing the statue at his NBC Studio in Burbank, California.

 

It is well known that Jay Leno is an avid car collector.  The first collectible car he purchased was a 1932 Packard Twin Six, sometime in the mid 1980s.  He purchased it from Phil Hill, America's first champion race car driver and Packard mechanic who did the restoration work.  Today Leno's car collection has grown extensively. We are extremely appreciative that Mr. Leno agreed to participate in our public art project that pays tribute to the Packard automobile.

 

Dennis Roof is the Production Designer for the "Tonight Show" starring Jay Leno on NBC, Universal.  Mr. Roof has served as the art director for a number of television shows throughout his career.  In 1996, Roof was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Individual Achievement in Art Direction for a Variety or Music Program.

The statue measurements are approximately 6 feet tall by 8 feet, 6 inches long. These are works of art and some statues are meant to be displayed out of the elements.
