17" Kathe Kruse Doll I, 1910 -1929 with wide hips. Molded muslin head, hand-painted, jointed at shoulders and hips. Head has surface dirt and minor paint wear. Surface dirt on arms. Torso and arms are very clean. Clothing appears original - Dutch boy outfit: blue felt jacket and very full rose felt britches. Both have fading and moth damage. Jacket is missing (1) button and has damage on front. Hat is missing. Linen underpants and cotton shirt appear to be handmade. Brown leather "6" boots have age deterioration and the soles have come away from the boots themselves. This very cute doll came from the original owner's family. She was born in 1921 and loved playing with it.
