Cavalier (5th Class) of this order. Established in 1921, This medal was awarded to Polish & Foreign citizens for merit to the Polish country & nation for various reasons. There were five classes of this award. Badge is white enameled gilt Maltese Cross with ball finials. Medallion: white eagle without crown & regalia on red background; blue corcle bears Latin motto: POLONIA RESTITVTA (Poland Restored). Reverse, gilt arms, without enamel; medallion bears year 1944 on red background. Somewhat worn & faded ribbon is red with white stripes near edges. Cross is 56mm. Fine.
