FRENCH GILT BRONZE REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK, c1880 , elaborate case with bevelled glass sides, filigree face with white enamel numerals and black metal hands, striking hours and half hours, marked PARIS and numbered 30201 on the backplate and on the underside of the clock, standing 20cms tall, good working condition, original key. PROVENANCE: This clock was the property of famous English author Dornford Yates, who moved to Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1941 and died in 1960.
