12. [HOLOCAUST] Theresienstadt Camp money. Complete seven-piece currency set, uncirculated, Jan, 1943. Denominations include 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Kronen. The obverse of each note displays a picture of Moses holding the tablets with the Ten Commandments. The Star of David also appears on each note. Fine condition. Theresienstadt was a concentration camp from which people were shipped to other death camps, though many died there from conditions resulting in the extreme population density. It was used a front for the Red Cross who were shown bakeries and "shops" in which the prisoners were free to spend this "money". The Nazis even went so far as to provide an "orchestra" for the visitors' benefit. Est: $150-250
