FRAMED THEOREM ON VELVET. Attributed to New York State and from a Poughkeepsie historic home. Signed on the backing paper in pencil "Adelia Howes. 1823". Also written in ink on the back is "Be careful and not dirty the velvet". A large basket of fruit with a fanciful bird perched on top and a butterfly at the upper left. Light stains. Glued to the original backing paper. 15" x 17 1/2" 19th Century gilt frame is 18" x 20"
