George Nakashima dining table, black walnut free-edge two-section, each with two rosewood butterfly joints; wood for top was selected by Dr. Zitin directly from Mr. Nakashima's stock and with his advice; in 1959 the Zitens requested of Mr. Nakashima that an extension be made to match the original table, the dining set is referred to by Mr. Nakashima in his handwritten notes, as a "special table"; set is accompanied by a pencil sketch of the modification of the table, two dated receipts and several note cards regarding the table including one signature by George Nakashima and two signatures by his wife, Marion Nakashima; bottoms of pedestal bases with light wear, small butterfly repair on underside of table extension (done at the Nakashima studio and referenced in the 1977 postcard included), handwritten on underside of extension " Dr. Zitin AD 3-11-63"; 29" x 60" x 45", 29" x 40" x 45" (extension), Reserve: $8,000
