OIL ON WOODEN PANEL PAINTING. Portrait of a woman wearing a black dress and white lace trimmed bonnet. She has blue/grey eyes and brown hair. Unsigned, but an old tag identifies her as a member of the Laurence Harding Peabody family of Massachusetts. Reputedly painted by family member, Chester Harding. Minor surface wear. Heavy overvarnish makes any touch up difficult to see. 26"h. 2 3/4"w. Gilt frame with acanthus leaves has worn edges. 31 1/2"h. 27 1/4"w.
