ROOKWOOD UMBRELLA STAND. Attributed to Maria Longworth Nichols and has the small impressed kiln mark with "1883". (Mrs. Nichols was the founder of Rookwood Pottery in 1880). See The Book Of Rookwood Pottery by Peck, page 13, for a large vase with similar decoration. This piece has fish with crabs and lily pads on a blue ground. Gold highlights. Minor professional restoration. 25"h.
