Ship: $65 Provenance: This piece was purchased directly from Sam Doyle at his home in Frogmore in 1982. Dr. Buz has remained in this one collection for 25 years until coming to this auction. The consignors took these photos of Doyle's environment when they purchased Dr. Buz. Lot 201: One of Doyle's (1906-1985)favorite subjects was Dr. Buzzard (Dr. Buz), a voodoo doctor on the island who was once St. Helena's wealthiest African American resident, and who allegedly received his inspiration from a conch shell.
