Attributed to Pedro Nunez de Villavicencio (Spanish, 1644-1700), The Descent from the Cross, oil on canvas, 24 1/2" x 18 1/2", unsigned and with labels verso identifying the artist. Minor inpainting with original canvas laid on to a 19th century canvas, otherwise good condition. In a fine period frame with minor losses measuring 33 3/8" x 27 3/8". Provenance: A Massachusetts religious institution.
