Early 9' F.E. Thomas Mahogany Special Trout Rod. This 3/2 rod has red silk wraps and full intermediates, with English twist guides. Both tip tops and the stripper have agate inserts. All sections are full and straight, with the dark colored cane Thomas reserved for the Mahogany series. A few wraps have been replaced. The all cork reel seat has a sliding band and the handle is a half Wells style. The butt cap is stamped: #5. The bag is original and the tube is a 1930's era replacement.
