Fresh from an old estate collection, this piece is untouched and ready for a professional cleaning and light restoration. This is a great piece that matches up beautifully when folded as it would be when worn around the shoulders. The floating crosses and other devices make for a nice effect. The colors are good and visually strong. The piece is sturdy and has a nice handle. One corner is frayed, as is a small area at one end in the center. There is a small hole at the other end and at one corner, plus another small spot that has been crudely repaired long ago with the same dark blue Germantown wool yarn as was used in the rug! Three areas of the side stitch have come loose. Each of these are where the wrap was worked in to green yarns so perhaps this due to oxidation of those green dyed yarns. There is light soiling and two areas of light stain, plus scattered small holes and separations. SIZE IS SIZE IS 50 X 32 INCHES. This is a rare fresh discovery.
