THE PICTURE OF PHILADELPHIA, GIVING AN ACCOUNT OF ITS ORIGIN, INCREASE AND IMPROVEMENTS IN ARTS, SCIENCES, MANUFACTURES…Phila, B & T Kite and printed by Jane Aiken, 1811, xii, 376pp. 1st ed, the frontis folding view of Phila is present, but heavily creased and with a few marginal chips, tears and moderately foxed. It is attached to the front board. Both boards detached. P 201 has a ½" x 2" piece missing from upper right margin with resultant loss of text, else contents tight & moderately foxed. Howes M471; Simpson, Henry. THE LIVES OF EMINENT PHILADELPHIANS, Phila, William Brotherhead, 1859, thick 8vo, 993pp. With 44 steel engraved portraits, most with marginal or little foxing, bound in full pub cloth. Front board & back strip detached but present. Text block split in half at pp 240-41.
