(Spanish Decorative Arts) DIE BAUKUNST SPANIENS DARGESTELLT IN IHREN HERVORRAGENDSTEN WERKEN by Cornelius Gurlitt, photographs by Max Junghandel. J. Bleyl, Dresden, 3 volumes in 4. Large folio (over 20" tall), The first 2 volumes were purportedly pubbed between 1891-93. xiv, 36pp, followed by 154 plates numbered 1-154, + 47 additional plates, a number of which are in beautiful chromolithography. nd, but "Zur Nachricht" (page 36) is dated January, 1893. The 3rd vol. was published in 2 portfolios in 1898, It contains plate #s 155-223. Red cloth portfolios with red paper boards boldly titled in gilt and with string ties (lacking). A number of plates have edge soiling and/or chipping and tearing, but all in the margins, not affecting any of the images. A few of the plates are soiled overall and one chromolithograph has separated from its mount but is otherwise ok. Portfolio cases are stained, soiled and rubbed and starting to split at the hinges, but have protected the contents effectively. Plates are titled in Spanish, German, and French. A scarce set, esp in this complete state. Overall, near very good.
