Revolutionary War-Era Wax Seal Tamp with Lathe-Turned Wood Handle, Choice Near Mint.
Beautiful turned wooden handle and brass tamp with concentric-circle design--3" overall length--utilized during the Colonial era to seal letters or notes with hot wax. Similar to an example pictured on p. 238 of "Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of The American Revolution." A simple, yet impressive device from a bygone era, of exceptional quality.
