Patent granted to Jeremiah Peck and Daniel Taylor for a machine ''in the mode of manufacturing cloth without spinning or weaving...the wool.'' Printed document filled in by hand. Includes description of the device written on 2 leaves, front and back, the whole with a blue ribbon in left margin. 15 1/4 x 11 in. Signed by President Andrew Jackson and by Martin van Buren, then Secretary of State and later President (1837-1841). Notarized and signed by John M. Berrian, Jackson's first Attorney-General. Vertical folds, partial split in paper presidential seal, ink splash obscures few word on the first page describing the invention, few large inscect-induced holes in pages 2 and 3 with some word loss; only tiny loss of edge of page 1.
