SUTER ATTRIBUTED, ROCKINGHAM CO., VA SINGLE-GLAZED EARTHENWARE CROCK, approximately one-half gallon with a "1" capacity stamp, squared rim with two incised rings below, lead-glazed interior, features a peculiar faint brushed decoration of a bird, similar to lot #1002 in this auction, on the front below capacity mark. Attributed to Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery. Fourth quarter 19th century. 6 7/8" h, 5 5/8" dia rim
