The Sea-Wolf
Author: London, Jack
Description: vii, [1], 366 + [3] ad pp. Frontispiece and 5 plates by W. J. Aylward. 7½x5, blue cloth lettered in white, cover illustrated in dark blue, orange, and white, top edge gilt. Third Printing.3-page inscription (front free endpaper, following blank, half-title page) by Jack London: "Dear Lurline and Percy: - I've been sitting and working and waiting for one or the other of you or both of you to tell me all about it. Not a line. You knew my address all the time. I, on the other hand, didn't write my congratulations, etc., at the time, first, because at that time I imagined you would be too busy realizing each other to be bothered, too happy to be made happier by mere works of friends; and, second, I hadn't your address and was too busy to find it when i thought of it, and when I had the time was too absent-minded. However here's to the pair of you now. My best wishes to you, and my heartiest love - also; a further expression of my insistent desire to hear all about it. Jack London, Oakland, Calif. Nov. 30th, 1904." Lurline Lyons (Mrs. Percy Montgomery) was Charmian's cousin and a successful silent film actress.
