Saul Tepper (New York, New York, 1899-1987) 36" x 24" oil on canvas of Abraham Lincoln shinning shoes. Signed lower right "Saul Tepper". Saul Tepper was a native New Yorker. In 1926, he studied at Grand Central Art School under illustration artist Harvey Dunn. At the height of his career, he produced illustrations for most of the major magazines including Saturday Evening Post and did advertising art for major companies including Coca-Cola. Tepper was elected to the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1980. Well listed artist. Two 1 1/2" tears, few minor scratches and some staining to edge of canvas only, otherwise good condition. EST. $500. - $1000.
