Franklin Dullin Briscoe (PA, 1844-1903), Doberman,
oil on panel, signed lower right "F. D. Briscoe," portrait of a beloved Doberman wearing a red collar, housed in the likely original gilt wood frame with composition ornament; Franklin Dullin Briscoe was born in Baltimore, Maryland but moved with his family to Philadelphia in 1848. Philadelphia proved a fertile ground for his early training, including studies with Thomas Moran. - SS 9.5" x 7"; DOA 13" x 19"
