New Haven Clock Co. "Ivanhoe" Mantle Clock,
ca. 1900, 8- day time and strike, brass movement, porcelain dial with Roman numerals, open escapement, beveled glass door, all mounted in ornate copper-toned housing; to left is a figure of a pensive "Ivanhoe" resting upon his broadsword; clock and statuette sit on a black stone base having two applied metallic scrolled feet flanking a classical applique. Overall, an excellent example of late Victorian decorative taste in America. - Complete with two keys. - 20" x 16" x 7" - Trivial chip to edge of glass, some light wear.
