Stan Mortensen's England international cap for the match v Sweden in 1948-49, the dark blue cap inscribed SWEDEN, 1948-49; sold together with a signed letter of provenance; the lot also including a copy of Mortensen's book Football Is My Game (2nd edition, 1949); a photograph of Mortensen scoring one of his hat-trick goals in the 1953 F.A. Cup final; a 1953 F.A. Cup final 50th anniversary tribute evening programme autographed by Bill Perry, Nat Lofthouse, Ewan Fenton, Roy Hartle, Cyril Robinson and Jimmy Armfield; and a 4-page signed hand written letter from Cyril Robinson recalling his memories of the 1953 Cup final This match was played at the Rasunda Stadion, Solna, on 13th May 1949 and was the first of a three match end of season continental tour. Sweden recorded a memorable 3-1 victory. Blackpool's Stan Mortensen won a total of 25 England caps.
