SAMPLER. Probably English. Silk on closely woven wool ground. Signed "Jane Whitbread 1848". Sets of alphabets and numbers over finely worked potted flowers. Religious verse and chain-link border design. Bright colors. Small areas of loss to ground. Bird's-eye frame. 14" x 13 1/2".
