PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL. American, early 19th Century. Oil on a single panel board of a blonde haired girl dressed in blue and white and wearing a coral bead necklace and drop earrings. She's seated on an Empire sofa with a window in the background. Revarnished with a few faint traces of touch up. Covered up writing on the back. Sold at Garth's, September, 2005. 24"h. 19 1/4"w. Modern gilt frame. 30"h. 25 3/4".
Condition: (small filled hole in upper left, dark areas show at girl's right sleeve & area in upper right. Do not remember whether writing was originally on back, not mentioned in original description
