A very early card of the 'Say Hey Kid' Willie Mays. He entered Korean conflict after only a half-season rookie year in 1951. Back of the card states "Will be missed at the Polo Grounds and throughout the league"--quite an understatement! This card rated GD-VG, likely due to the surface wear and lack of gloss, as well as moderately dinged corners and edges. However, it is certainly a distinguished document of one of the game's greatest of all time. A card worth having.
