California Gold Quartz Presentation-Ca. 1863-A prime example of the most sought after category in the antique walking stick field. The large, Civil War period silver handle has a faceted hexagonal piece of gold quartz with a very large gold vein throughout. The stone is inlaid firmly into a cartouche of the same shape with hand engraving throughout the top. There are eight side panels of which four are hand engraved with flowers and leafs and the other four are engraved presentation panels. The presentation reads "Presented by H.S. Allen to his Mother 1863". The massive shaft is a very rich exotic and it has a 2" silver and iron ferrule-H. 2 3/8" x 1 5/8", O.L. 35 7/8"-$10,000-$15,000
