Elephant ivory and this items was imported into the United States legally. The silver collar is inscribed "This cane grew on Fort Putnam, Cambridge, Mass. Presented by Thomas Hastings to Maj. Sam Hastings 1829" This was a presentation from a son to a father who was a Revolutionary war officer. It has Medallion silver eyelets, a massive, wild cherry shaft and a 2" brass ferrule-H. 1 ½" x 1 ½", O.L. 47 3/8"-$1,500-$2,500
