Marie Zimmerman brooch with enamel, seed pearls

Marie Zimmerman brooch with enamel, seed pearls and sapphires in 14k bi-colored gold, accompanied by two handwritten letters. The brooch centers an enameled amethyst glass disk depicting a Renaissance woman, framed by a row of seed pearls within a row of alternating green gold leaves and bezel-set blue sapphires. Complete with a signed Christmas letter written by Marie Zimmerman to the aunt of the current owner, dated 22 December 1949, and a note in French from Zimmerman's father, on personalized stationery, dated 25 April 1910. Brooch with maker mark and #1502, in original box; 10.8 gs. 1 5/8" dia.
