Original Denise Duong painted hope chest entitled “Serenading Thoughts”. Denise Duong is a native Oklahoman who has risen to the art scene with her whimsical and lighthearted artworks. She has the ability to make the fanciful and bizarre seem almost commonplace. Denise challenges the observer with eccentric imagery; elegantly detailed artwork interweaving half cartoon-half fairy tale characters in complex interactions, chapters from her life in which we are able to reflect our own. This chest “serenading thoughts” was inspired by a woman’s love for the sense of unconditional sentiment provided by her beloved birds and a man’s desire to earn that love by masquerading as her muse. The hope chest reflects the beauty that we all possess from deep within us and the humility it takes for it to shine beyond us.
